Hitting the ground running with my goals and getting some shit done. This is the last week of February, meaning March is literally here. [Subscribe now](#/portal/signup) # *The Sunday Brew ☕* Since I was a little girl, I was always in the mindset of needing to humble myself. Be modest about things. But as I’m getting older, I’m realizing that I didn’t know where to draw the line with staying humble because you never know what was going to happen or what can get taken from you in the blink of an eye, and still being able to talk myself up and talk my shit. Follow me here. Yes, I’m a humble person. But somewhere along the line, that humbleness made me downplay my abilities and what I bring to the table as a creative. I know that I’m a bomb ass writer. But being afraid to make connections, being afraid to fail, not thinking I’m good enough because I’m comparing myself to other people, has probably left doors closed for me that I was meant to open. Why on earth would I ever think to myself that I’m not just as good of a writer and the author that is a bestseller? Why would I ever think that I won’t get that writing job because I’m not good enough? Why would I do that to myself? I mean, I literally just had a guest article in a huge newspaper! Me!!! In the paper… like what!? At some point, we gotta stop being so modest about what we are capable of. Like yes, I wrote that, yeah, I did that, yes, I CAN do that just as good as the next person if not better. We have to think so highly of ourselves that nothing in this world can bring us down. I’m not saying don’t be down to earth in life situations. I’m saying, yes… be a down to earth person, but still talk your shit. Learn some balance. Don’t allow you being down to earth as a person allow you to be down to earth about your work. When it comes to what you can do? Mannnnn, we ain’t down to earth! We live in the sky… literally. I am no longer saying, “One day I’ll be…” no… I already am. Period. Step into your greatness. Right now today. We as humans are capable of so much. Every single one of us has a gift. Use yours and know that you are the best at what you do. There’s room for everyone in this world, that’s why we’re all here. So find your space, find your lane, and take tf off! Okay?
