Hello hello hello friends!!! Welcome to another Sunday Muse Newsletter. I’m happy to be in your inbox early this morning with my warm cup of coffee with one side of my brain pondering on how great life has been lately and the other side of my brain convincing me that there’s a million things I need to be worried about. Yeah, the word for that is anxiety… I guess? Anyway, thank you for being here with me. It means the world to me. So, you know the drill. Grab your warm drink and let’s get into it.

But first I want to welcome my new subscribers! I’ve gotten 15 new subs over the last two weeks and oh my goodness I feel amazing. I’m famous!!!???? LOL. Just kidding. But no seriously, welcome! If this is your first Sunday Newsletter, I’m excited for you. Some of the people reading have been here with me for almost three years. I promise to do my best to be on time every Sunday but sometimes… I’m hungover. I’m gonna just keep it real with you. But, better late than never, amiright!?

Now, let’s dive in. Today’s topic? Friendships in adulthood.

Friendship in adulthood? Whew. It’s a journey right? In our late 20s, friendships start to look very, very different. Trust me when I tell you this. We’re juggling careers, relationships, kids (if that’s your lane), and life just be life-ing. Like, literally every single day. But through all the changes, one thing remains true, having the right people in your corner makes all the difference.

🌿 Reflection: The Evolution of Friendship

In our younger years, friendships often came easy. You sat next to someone in class, shared a few laughs, and boom—instant besties. But now? Maintaining meaningful friendships requires intentionality. To be honest, this is something that I struggle with a lot especially with three kids, a husband, and trying to get my feet off the ground with my writing career. People grow, move, get married, start families, and suddenly, that ā€œsee you every weekendā€ friendship turns into ā€œgirl, let’s catch up soon!ā€ And then it never happens.

And let’s be real—making new friends as an adult? A challenge. But it’s possible! It takes stepping out of your comfort zone, being open to deeper connections, and nurturing the bonds that truly matter. Now, I say this as a person who is deathly afraid of creating new bonds with new people because as much as it may not seem like it, I really despise people 90% of the time. But! Don’t be like me. Try to be better.

One thing you should know about me if you don’t know already is that I do my best to offer great advice that I know is the truth even if I’m not following my own advice. I’m not afraid to admit that! I think so many people focus on trying to portray that they practice what they preach and behind closed doors they don’t. I’m telling you first hand that it is very hard for me to make new friends because I don’t trust people at all and I have a hard time balancing my time. Again, I’m not afraid to admit that. But, I want you to try to step out of your comfort zone if possible. You may be missing out on some great people by being afraid.

šŸ‘©ā€šŸ‘§ Parenthood & Friendships: Finding the Balance

Parenthood brings a whole new layer to friendships. Suddenly, schedules are dictated by nap times, school pickups, and endless snack requests and meltdowns. Some friendships naturally drift, while others evolve into something even more beautiful—especially when you find those friends who get it. The ones who don’t take canceled plans personally, who check in when they know you’re overwhelmed, and who remind you that you’re still you, even in the midst of mom/dad life.

The key? The key my friends is Grace. For yourself, for your friends, and for the constant changes of the seasons of life.

Have grace because life is so unpredictable and you never know what’s going to happen and when. Spread as much love as you can to your special friends and know that you’re doing your best. Have grace for yourself when you’re afraid to start a new friendship, but also know that sometimes God sends people your way for a reason. Let your guards down a little bit. You never know what’s in store for you with a new friend!

āœšŸ½ Poem: To the Ones Who Stay

To the ones who stay, despite the distance,
Who love in between texts and missed calls.
Who hold space, who show up, who understand,
Even when life keeps pulling us in a hundred directions.
Thank you for being home in human form — thank you for loving me.
