How to Stay Motivated When You Feel Pulled in Every Direction 💫
Your friend Soul got ya back!
Okay friend, we’ve all been there. You're juggling a family, work, house stuff, personal goals – it can feel like you’re in a literal whirlwind. But here's the thing: staying motivated doesn’t have to feel like a never-ending battle. I promise I got you! Let’s break it down really quick, shall we? 🙌
1. Break Things Down Into Small Bites 🧩
When everything is piling up, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Instead of thinking about everything at once, break it down into smaller, doable tasks. Tackle one thing at a time, and celebrate the little wins. Trust me, every step counts! When you break things down into little wins, you feel more accomplished when things are completed because you set realistic goals for yourself.
2. Set Realistic Expectations 📝
Perfection is overrated. 😅 Seriously. You don’t have to do it all, all at once. Set those expectations a little lower (like, WAY lower). Be proud of what you accomplish, and cut yourself some slack when things don’t go perfectly. You're doing great, friend. I promise you are. I had to let go of the idea that everything had to be done all at once. I get anxiety about it and then I crash and nothing gets done. Don’t be like me. I’m trying to do better and things are looking up for me now that I started setting those realistic expectations for myself.
3. Create a Routine (or Go with the Flow) ⏰
I get it – routines can feel restricting, but they also create structure that makes your day flow smoother. My routines change all of the time because I have kids and guess what? That is okay. It’s okay if your routine changes overtime. Life gets in the way of things all the damn time. Sometimes routines don’t go as planned, but creating one can still help you feel more organized. Whether it’s a full-blown schedule or just knowing what’s next, a little organization can help you feel more on top of things. Plus, make sure there’s room for YOU in that routine. Self-care is key! Tonight I’ll be throwing on a face mask, cooking a nice dinner, and taking a bubble bath with my wine once the kids go to bed. Self care is soooo important!
4. Find Your “Why” 💖
When life feels all over the place, remember why you’re doing what you’re doing. Whether it’s for your family, for your dreams, or just to make it through the day, finding your purpose can help fuel that motivation when things get tough. Keep that “why” in your back pocket for days when you need a reminder. Like for me, my why is so that I can create a life of financial freedom for myself with my writing. So everyday I get up, and I do what it takes to make sure one day I reach my goal of solely being able to live on my writing income alone for me and my family. 💪
5. Celebrate the Small Wins 🎉
Did you cross ONE thing off your to-do list today? That’s a win and a win is what? A win is a win baby. Even if it’s just surviving the day (I see you!), celebrate it. A little gratitude for what you’ve done goes a long way in keeping the motivation rolling.
6. Ask for Help (You Don’t Have to Do It Alone) 🤝
You don’t have to be a superhuman 24/7. Reach out to your partner, a friend, or family when you need help. It’s okay to lean on others – it’s not a weakness, it’s teamwork. 👫 And if you don’t have family or a partner to lean on, I understand. Take it one day at a time and NEVER be hard on yourself. You can even reach out to me directly for a little moral support, I got you! <3
Staying motivated when life is pulling you in a million directions isn’t about doing everything perfectly. It has always been about showing up one small step at a time. You’ve got this, friendddd. I believe in you!!! 💕 Keep going!
