The air will start to feel different today, and you may not be able to put your finger on it right away, but if you step outside and really take a moment to look around, you’ll notice that Spring has already been making its presence known for weeks now…

the grass sitting a little greener than it was before, the sun hanging around just a little longer in the sky, and the trees slowly coming back to life.

It’s been brushing past us real soft, almost like it didn’t want to be noticed too soon, just passing through in silence, and you’ve probably caught yourself looking up once or twice thinking this might be it… only for Winter to circle back around and pull you right back in before you could get too comfortable.

You know that feeling… when someone is standing just a little too close behind you, and even if you don’t turn around, your body already knows they’re there… a subtle awareness sitting right under your skin.

That was Winter — still trying to stay relevant… still holding onto you just a little longer than it should because it didn’t want to be replaced.

You could feel it in the way the breeze would cling to you like old memories… those cool fingers trailing across your skin just present enough to remind you that it hadn’t fully let go yet… a little stubborn and possessive like it had grown comfortable being the center of your attention.

But Spring… Spring isn’t asking us for permission. It’s already here, settling in whether Winter likes it or not. Moving in slow at first, so slow that you almost miss it, and then gradually becoming bolder, warmer, and pressing into spaces Winter had been resting in for months.

You start to feel it on your face first… that softness in the heat and the warmth in the winds kissing your skin.

And somewhere in that moment Winter finally decides to exhale against the back of your neck, as if it’s making peace with what’s happening, allowing Spring to lean in a little closer, letting that warmth spread across your chest.

And you’re just… there. Caught right in between them, feeling both at once. Your body responding before your mind can even catch up, your shoulders dropping without you realizing it, your breath slowing and deepening, like your insides are trying to match the wave of what’s happening around you.

Even the trees can feel it. Sitting there half bare and half blooming — standing in that same uncertainty. Their branches are stretching out, testing the air for warmth while still clinging to the last pieces of cold.

Everything in nature, including you, is sitting in that same space at the same time… that thick and almost tangible space of being in between seasons… where everything is shifting. Where Spring is building beneath the surface, pressing upward, ready to bloom, just waiting for the right moment to fully present itself.

And you stay outside a little longer than you usually would because you want to experience it… letting the sun touch your skin in places Winter had been guarding, letting the breeze move across you — cool, then warm, then cool again.

But then Winter slows down because it knows you’re finally paying attention. It wants you to feel it… every last second of it… the shift and the tension simultaneously. The handoff that’s happening right in front of you without a single word being spoken.

Winter loosens its grip and Spring steps forward. And when you look around, you feel it reach its peak. The flowers begin to open… coming into their fullness.

Spring is here.
