The Real New Year Is Coming Up...
Good morning friends.
Ya girl has been sick! And I mean… really in the damn trenches. It feels like its just allergies, but at this point… I don’t even know.
I wasn’t going to send a newsletter today, however! I promised myself I’d be more consistent this year.
It wont be long, especially since I’m not feeling well. But, come on… grab your favorite morning beverage and talk with me for a little bit.
The Sunday Brew ☕️
I know there’s a lot of people who don’t believe that the real new year is in the Spring and thats fine or whatever. But I mean, you have to be honest… It does make way more sense.
In the winter time, we are all still hibernating in a sense. Moving slow, still feeling foggy, that seasonal depression is still lingering around, and sometimes a lot of us don’t feel that get up and go energy that is promoted in January until the spring time hits. I mean shit, its still getting dark at 6PM!
I think this year has already been heavy enough and it’s only February. Between the Epstein Files, the Government playing in our face, and the wars online about every little thing, we cant seem to catch a break.
With all of the heaviness, it makes sense that maybe there are some things that you set out to do this year that you haven’t gotten to yet… and thats okay.
Since the beginning of 2025, I’ve been learning to do one thing and that one thing is: giving myself grace.
I don’t make excuses, but I do give myself grace when its due. I have 4 Substack posts that I want to get out before mid-March that I wanted to drop weeks ago. But as I said in my last newsletter, I have been dealing with sick kids since the year started. Every two weeks its something new. I haven’t even had time to finish the first draft of my novel coming out this year. That first draft needs to be done before I go back to school for my MFA in April… andddddd its damn near March already with how fast time is flying.
But you know what I keep telling myself? That it will be okay. I have a lot on my plate and even if you don’t have kids, I can bet that you probably have a lot on your plate, too. It’s okay if you haven’t locked in as hard as you wanted to in January. We have a few more weeks until we welcome a new season. Take this time to get your plans in order and map out how you’re going to lock in for 2026.
You don’t have to have all of the answers, but you do need to hold yourself accountable. Did you make your vision board already? If not, it’s not too late! Especially if you’re a “Spring is the real new year” kind of person. Make that vision board, make a plan, and put that shit into action. You can do whatever it is you set your mind to do, as long as you do your best while trying.
We all fail sometimes, it’s a part of life. But I want you to know that your goals are still in reach. Its only February. Give yourself some grace.

Curious Minds 🧠
Did you know that nearly 46% Americans will meet the standards for a mental health condition that can be diagnosed at some point in their life? Half of which will have developed this condition by the time they are 14.
That is… literally insane. And it speaks volumes on the world we live in. When I say world, I mean the United States. Because let’s face it: America is embarrassing right now. Has been for a while. So, if you’re struggling with your mental health, just know… you ain’t alone! That’s sad that I can say that and actually mean it. Almost half of our country got mental health issues. I guess its safe to say, I ain’t the problem and neither are you lol. We all going crazy!
But on a serious note, get yourself checked out if you are struggling with your mental health. The world needs you! (Unless you’re a serial killer or something along those lines and to that I say — please unsubscribe from my emails, you fucking psychopath!)
